INFORMATION ABOUT PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

Prescription services are available to all DoD beneficiaries (including Medicare patients) with a valid DoD ID card. Most prescriptions may be filled with a 90-day supply if requested by the provider. Others may be filled up to a 30-day supply. All prescriptions should have the patient name, date of birth, and phone number placed on them. Prescriptions may be filled with a generically equivalent medication. If we do not carry the medication and you want it changed to something we carry, please contact your provider and have them contact us.

There are two pharmacy locations. The Hospital Pharmacy is located on the first floor of the hospital near the bear entrance and is open Monday-Friday, 0730-1730. The Satellite Pharmacy is located in the BX next to the commissary and is open Monday-Friday, 0900-1800 and Saturday, 0900-1300 for pick-up only. Training occurs on the 3rd Thursday of each month. On these days, BOTH pharmacies close at 1200 and reopen the following duty day.

To keep wait times for new prescriptions to a minimum, all prescription refills must be ordered through the phone-in refill service. Phone lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Prescriptions may be refilled after 75% of the previous day supply has elapsed to avoid running out of medication. Controlled substances may not be refilled more than 4 days early.

To use the phone-in service, call 580-1170 and follow the prompts (see below). Refills called in before 12 p.m. will be filled and available for pick-up after 1 p.m. the next duty day. Refills called in after 12 p.m. will be filled and available for pick-up after 1 p.m. two duty days later. The phone-in system will tell you when your prescription will be ready unless your prescription is for a special order medication and has alternate information on the label.

The majority of medications are refilled at the Satellite Pharmacy. Medications having prescription numbers starting with "HD" will be filled at the hospital. All filled prescriptions are kept for 7 duty days and must be picked up within that time frame or the transactions will be reversed and the medication will be put back to stock.

If you would like to speak with a staff member at the Hospital Pharmacy, call 580-3012. If you would like to speak with a staff member at the Satellite Pharmacy, call 580-5526. If you have run out of refills and require a new prescription order, please contact your provider. For on base providers, call the Appointment Line at 580-APPT (2778). All new orders from on base providers must be activated at the Hospital Pharmacy to be filled.
