Environmental Quality
The Environmental Quality Element ensures Elmendorf Air Force base is in constant compliance with federal, state, and Air Force rules and regulations related to the management of:
Hazardous Waste
Used Oil and Non-Hazardous Wastes
Hazardous Materials
Underground/Above ground Storage Tanks (UST/AST)
PCBs and other Toxic Substances
Clean Water and Storm Water Pollution Prevention
Air Quality
Contaminated Sites
Spill Prevention and Countermeasures and Control (SPCC)
Spill Reporting to Appropriate Regulatory Agencies
For hazardous waste generators, Environmental Quality provides comprehensive environmental services, including accumulation point inspections, container pick-up and delivery, waste characterization, labeling, and completing any necessary environmental disposal paperwork. Environmental Quality offers three hazardous waste training courses to personnel and contractors working on the installation. Details of what training is available, as well as how hazardous materials and wastes are to be managed may be found in 3rd Wing OPLAN 19-3 which is located on the base web.
