12/16/2010 - JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- During the holiday season, our thoughts are with our loved ones.
It's the time of the year when families come together, or if separated by distance or events, meet in spirit and affection by exchanging greetings and gifts.
I encourage each of you to take some time to unwind and spend quality time with your family and friends.
Keep safety at the forefront of all your activities, and remind others to celebrate responsibly.
Alice and I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a safe and joyous New Year.
Please pause to reflect on your blessings, spend quality time with loved ones, and remember our comrades who are deployed in harm's way.
