ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- The retired F-15 sits in front of Hangar 4 waiting to be towed to the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum June 13. This ground instructional training aircraft was transferred to the AAHM in Anchorage where it will be restored and displayed. It is one of two GITA birds to be transferred to the museum. ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- A 60th Fighter Squadron F-15C takes off for a training mission during RED FLAG-Alaska April 15. The 60th Fighter Squadron is assigned to the 33rd Fighter Wing from Eglin AFB, Fla. Nearly 1,600 U.S. and foreign participants have gathered in Alaska to simulate real-life combat scenarios. RED FLAG-Alaska 08-2 includes air forces from Austrailia, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as the U.S. Air Force. The next RED FLAG-Alaska is set for June 5-20.
